Dealbhachd is a Scottish Gaelic word that translates to the art of painting and statuary. Dealbhachd both references Tom’s family heritage and his artistic practice. His installation at the gallery is a survey of his work from the past 40 years primarily focusing on the figure and expanding its traditions of depiction. Tom has never been limited by specific medium and has covered almost every material in this show including oil painting, silicone painting, foam, rubber concrete, glass and oysters.
